Sailing World Boats of the Year

Sailing World released their boats of the year last week.

Some nice rides in there. I am a fan of Seascape myself. Probably not the 18 but, the 24 is a nice hotrod.

Re: Sailing World Boats of the Year

I was happy to see the C&C 30 O.D. and Redline 41 in the running.

The C&C 30 OD looks really slow - with all that meat on the rail she was still burying her nose. And let's hope this 2016 roster with the G4 saves Gunboat.

PHRF of 30. 18 Knots. Maybe they lied? Or maybe that's slow to you?

I was aboard FreakyFast in Newport a couple of summers ago. They claimed to pass 17 knots on a beam reach going under the Newport Bridge. I believe them.

Re: Sailing World Boats of the Year

Hey - I'm just saying the boat in the video looked slow. And it did. Any boat can be slow.

In any case, at $125K a pop for the C&C and growing competition from far cheaper and faster foiling multi-hulls...good luck with a burgeoning OD fleet.

You did see that the C&C is rated for offshore racing? Gulp.
