Sailnet crash much?

Is it just me, or does the Sailnet forum server seem to "go down" about once per hour for about 5 minutes? Not that I'm complaining... just a bit curious about it.

It does seem to happen a lot.

Jotun 10-04-2006 02:39 PM

I have also seen that.

I haven't noticed a pattern other than that it is often unavailable.

An I thought it was my internet connection that was at fault...

Parley 10-04-2006 02:49 PM

Glad to see others are experiencing the same. I thought the internet work gods were on to me. :) It is a constant hassle for me. Seems whenever I want to post something I get the "unavailable" screen. Also happens a lot when trying to catch up on a thread.

I also experienced a lot of "unavailiabe messages" too. It looks like Sailnet must has a lot of traffics. I hope they will upgrade the bandwidth so everyone can get on readily. :)

It's what happens when ya use a Web Server software not up to the task. It forgets to release connections and on a busy site, you run out.

TrueBlue 10-04-2006 02:59 PM

After losing so many posts due to "unavailable service", I've learned to copy my text to the clipboard, before hitting the "Post Message" button.

Charlie, I thought this stuff was supposed to be connectionless. What package do you think they are using ?
