The lesson from the Icarus story is not about human failing.
It is a lesson about the limitations of wax as an adhesive.
If you have an engineering problem solve it.

Reminds me of every 'hurricane hole' in the Caribbean and the Bahamas. You are anchored all pretty like and here come the locals at the last minute. Cramming them in rather casually then going ashore to be with their families.

At first view I thought it was one of the Indian ship breaking yards. But when I did not see any barefoot laborers still working on the ship while the other ship beached, I knew better. This is a Turkish ship breaker.
