Need Manasquan NJ Advice Oct

We'll be leaving the Hudson River on the crawl south in several days. Any advice regarding entering Manasquan Inlet (NJ) would be appreciated. It's our first time down the NJ coast, enroute to Cape May/C&D Canal.

Easy inlet. If there is much swell running come straight in from the sea bouy. If the seas are really heavy in an east wind it will be a little dicey getting in. But Manasquan, Atlantic City, and Cape May are the only all weather inlets on the Jersey coast. But it is an easy day trip between each of them. Each of them has substantial rock jettys protecting the inlets.

How far do you need to travel into the inlets to get to good anchorages?

AC: south side before the bridge about 2 miles in. Cape May about 3-4 miles in south side before the marinas & first bridge. Good resturant south of Urth's(?) Marina.

Good advice by everyone. I'd just like to add a note about Delaware Bay. This is probably the most critical leg. Tidal current is very swift, and strong wind against current create treacherous conditions. Wait for the proper tide and weather, and you should have a quick and pleasant trip, otherwise you'll have a hairraising tale to tell for years to come
