????? the douglas website shows a clear reverse counter transom, which is not the case in the photos the op posted, which is vertical or possibly sloped a bit aftwards, clearly not a reverse counter transom.

The article explains how Brewer re-designed the transom sheer, so that may explain the transom differences, but the Brewer Bite designs still have a keel attached rudder, not a freestanding spade rudder with no skeg.

The first photo clearly shows this boat to have a spade rudder—with no keel or skeg attachment to speak of...

Again, good point SD. That'll teach me not to jump to conclusions. The shape of the underbody and the sheer sure seem to match though. Must be a bastard love child of the Brewer design and someone else's ideas (Hinterhoeller?)

It's definitely not a Douglas, even a modified Douglas/Classic... So the mystery still remains unsolved.
