You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

we like 25-35 knots

Looks like we will leave late Saturday night to catch the wind going east down long island sound.
by late Sunday afternoon we should be off soundings and on our way.
thanks for the input
fair winds,
eric

Man...You better be prepared to pull into Greeport or Block till things lay down a little bit...it's gonna take a while with those seas! What's wrong with Monday night?
SUN
W WINDS 30 TO 35 KT. SEAS 9 TO 16 FT...HIGHEST E.

MON
W WINDS DECREASING TO 15 TO 25 KT. SEAS SUBSIDING TO 5 TO
10 FT...HIGHEST SE.

That still sounds pretty exciting! Personally if the predicted winds are over 25 and seas are more than 6' I stay in port. You may get that on an extended passage...but why go looking for it??

Cam's right... no sense in going out and looking for trouble... you lose too many points out of the black box that way... trouble is more than happy to find you, without you seeking it out.
