I'm pretty sure it was a Formosa 51.

Hmm... pretty boat. You gotta love the pictures. Is it made out of wood or fiberglass?

Capt'n Ron boat in Costa Rica??

The boat in the exterior shots was definitely a Formosa 51. Right now on Yachtworld.com there is one in Costa Rica that claims to be the boat from the movie. I have my doubts. As recently as last May the boat was supposedly owned by a gentleman named Marcel Landry and based in the Kemah Boardwalk Marina on Galveston Bay. Gil

I don't know the make, but a friend of mine, Larry Tacket, an attorney and his partner owned the boat in Kema, Texas. With a hired captain and girls in bikinis dancing the Macarina, it was used as a tour boat until the captain ripped out the bottom on Redfish Island (reef) in Galveston Bay. I don't know what became of it later. I do know that once a man was sitting with his family at the resturant on the Clear Lake channel and as the bikinis passed by, I heard him say to his wife, "My God, I think I've just been Mooned!".

From what I'm told, the boat is now berthed at that resturant, The Sundance Grill, and is available for charter.

Is the engine really that big on a Formaso 51... Capt Ron always makes me laugh when he states the engine has 1200 ponies
