Conditions in December San Diego to Cabo

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I'd like to know if anyone has experience with December conditions on the Pacific coast from San Diego to Cabo. I have heard that the preferred time to sail or power cruise is earlier: like October thru November. If one is a good student of weather conditions, is December thru January still a viable option. Thanks in advance for any advice or info. on this. Bruce
