Alberg Yawl 37

I'm interested in buying a boat but it's on the other side of the country in California and I'm in Florida so my plan is to get it here eventually without shipping it since shipping cost more than what I'm paying for the boat.
I have the surveys from the boat, Is there anyone specifically I can contact with my surveys just to get a price estimate of what needs to be done before I attempt to bring it to the east coast.

Perhaps the surveyors can help in this. California is a big place. Where is the boat located?

Re: Alberg Yawl 37

Is it that one that has been for sale forever in Marina Del Rey - the "project" one?

You might want to check that one out in person before you commit to buying it.

As for price quote work, I would suggest calling King Harbor Marine center - they are nearby and can do all the refit work. I have found them to be reasonable and to do good work.

Re: Alberg Yawl 37

I would contact a local rigger not affiliated with the seller. When I last bought two years ago I looked as far away as Mystic Conn. and Im on the lower Ches bay. As I weighed the complications of buying out of town I choose something closer, still two good days Sailing but doable.
Now buying across country can be the adventure of a lifetime and Im always up for an adventure. Im only suggesting careful consideration. I certainly wouldn't be looking at a project Boat that required a round trip ticket to get to.
Happy hunting.
