Don't forget the new UN study that shows cows are much worse than SUV's. The "Inconvient Truth" is, the Earth has warmed before (there used to be a much larger population and farming in Greenland for instance). While we shouldn't trash the planet, the current hysteria is, IMHO, over blown.

The main player here is : El Nino

A moderate El Nino started setting up in June 2006.This is what dampened the Atlantic hurricane season..
and thats what brings you these storms with wind and rain..
remember 2002?
This El Nino event should last until late may or early June.

Global Warming is as natural as going bald or your hair turning gray, to think we would have a significant impact one way or another is pure irrogance.

Another thing to consider is some global warming proponents are accepting a good financial income from the global warming scare and have become global warming propagandists to promote their interests. These include some researchers who obtain research grants and some environmental organisations who need donations. They are making a living by promoting fear of man-made global warming.

Isn't that so true! Remember all the furor over Y2K? Lots of consultants, hardware and software manufacturers and others made millions off of fear! I never believed it would be much of a problem, and it turned out to be even less. (of course, if I had been wrong...)

Same thing is happening now with the War on Terror. Unscrupulous pigs are lining up at the government trough to get some of the money that is being thrown at the problem. We need common sense, not common cents!

Unfortunately, the Bush Administration doesn't know how to solve the problem, so they throw money at it...hoping that it will look like they're doing something...

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

You want to help stop Global warming? It's not the SUVs or cows..... STOP BREEDING!!! There would be less cows and SUVs! It is a simple over population issue and can easily be prevented. Al Gore didn't say that, did he! That's because it was a political message to promote Al Gore. STOP BREEDING offends to many religions who state that they should go forth and populate the earth.

Unfortunately, that's what all politicians do, of either stripe.

Heh - 13 degrees (celcius) and sunny in Toronto yesterday. 40 km. ride on my mountain bike a week before Christmas. With respect to Faster's weather on the west coast, usually it's the other way around but in this case, I'm smiling.

That's the problem, there is no problem to solve, it is inevitable, the planet will warm and cool and/or even freeze as it's always done.

Green house gases has been an environmental battle cry since the early 70's when they said we were headed for an Ice age; We have imposed the strictest emission stds there are over the last 40 yrs, we have driven industries either out of business or out of county and yet Gore says GH gas levels are on the rise, Why is this ??, Well, it's because our impact on the levels of GH gases and our attempts to lower GH gases are that insignificant.

Personally, the sooner we check our arrogance, the sooner we'll realize that there are forces far greater than us in play here, also the sooner the political game players stop trying to scare people out of their money or convince them that our advance technologies will save the day, the sooner people will start thinking adaptation, cause that will be the key to surival, not technology and certainly not Kyoto
