cost of slips around Galveston Bay?

Can anyone give me an idea of slip cost around the west Galveston Bay/clear Lake area for a 26' boat? I can't seem to get any numbers out of the few places that have web sites.

Any tips on finding good deals on slips, like finding unused spaces in those coastal communities with the canals?

For a 36' boat on Clear Lake any where from 180 to 300 depending on how nice and how close to the bay. A26 foot will be proportionatly less. Watergate where you are taking your lessons is a good compromise of quality, distance, nice people, price.

You also might want to pick up a copy of the Mariner's Log, a monthly newsletter type paper, as it will usually have specials at different marinas in it. A person I know that came up from Galveston said she'd like to go back there, but it isn't easy getting a slip there. How true that is, I can't say.
