Loewe is on a distinguished road
All the serious advice is good. As a dockmaster I expect our slip holders to know the terms of their contract and it specifically states "subletting of slip by slipholder is not allowed". On another note as a slipholder in a sailing club the provisions for transfer of slips after a boat sale are also very clearly defined. Bottom line as always (Caveat Emptor) know what the situation is and don't let your lust for a boat leave you twisting in the breeze!
Regards, Red

Thank you for all your replies. I am realizing that I may be portraying myself as some kind of swindler and a thief. Like I said before, I slipped a hostess 20 bucks once, but all that got me was a crappy table by the kitchen. I don't want to bribe anyone. The space that I take by doing that, just makes everyone else have to wait longer. I am a big karma person and pier 39 always has slips available if I have to move until my turn. This all came about because some people I work with have slips in a prestigious Yacht club that shall remain nameless, but its initials are: the saint francis yacht club and gas house cove. There seems to be a whole lot of greasing, deceit, and general bad practice going on there. Its no wonder there is a 25 year waiting list. Personally I don't see the attraction. Its foggy, cold, windy, not safe, crappy facilities, and the tide surge sucks. I would rather motor the 20 minutes to the slot. This is a hot topic at work right now and I had to ask, and I am glad I did. I like the guest slip idea and will bring it up to the Harbor.
