Perfect Summer Chessy Day

Hey guys unfortunately I think I am going to be stuck on land today however it looks like today is going to be one of the best days in the summer for sailing on the Chessy. The temperature is the in the seventies and the Thomas Point Lighthouse is recording 16 knot winds with 20 knot gusts. I hope all of you will be able to get out there today and have a blast!

Pouring like a bastage today... got thunderstorm warnings all over the place... probably not going to get to the boat today... since I'm having to work anyways.. I just went with a friend of mine to buy an O'Day Javelin 14 though...so the day's not a total loss—she bought it for her kids who crew for me regularly... got some teens hooked on sailing. YAY!

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

This is why I want to be rich enough not to work, and live on my boat. Is that really too much to ask.

I'm nearby on the Potomac and hating work. Seems like every weekend this summer there is hardly any breeze, high humidity, and temps that would fry an egg on the deck. Then, during the week, nice days in the mid-80s with a perfect breeze. Oh well, could be worse, at least we get to sail a much longer season than our friends to the north.

I think we just had nine days straight in the 90's. Was that back in May ?

I don't know, this past Saturday & Sunday I had a good 10-15, gust to 20 Saturday night in Swan Creek. I was just thinking what a great sailing season it has been, maybe I have just been lucky.

Ok, you got me, so last week doesn't count. Plus, I was traveling for work all last week. In any event, I'm still hating work.
