Captian Ron

I've always wanted to know what boat was used in the movie Captian Ron

Accessing Sailnet's powerful .. search engine of course gave me the answer...NOT!

Knowing Hollywood's ability to morph things togather..Im wondering if more then one boat was use for the filming...The cabin has such wonderfully high headroom and the boat does seem to have a lot of windage when view from the outside so Im thinking its possible to be one boat..but the engine room seemed a little excessive for a sail boat..

Whatever it is i want one...for a while anyway

I think it was a Formosa 51, but all the below deck shots were from sets, so no telling how accurate the interior was

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Still-

It is from when the boat was for sale... don't believe it is currently for sale.

Capt Ron was one of my mentors. Capt Wolf Larsen was my other mentor.

You know how well read someone is, when you mention Wolf Larsen and they don't know who he is.

Read "The Sea Wolf" by Jack London, then you will know.

1978 Formosa Boat For Sale

some of us can put links in to. Most expensive one by double generally speaking. some are in the mid 100K to 350 for the most part.

Better be in good shape for that money!
