Giulietta-

I'm glad to see your photography skillz are as impressive as usual... out of focus...blurry, etc...

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Giulietta-

As I used to tell my photography students who were prepping their portfolios... "Your book is only as strong as the weakest image in it..." and you have the choice to post or not post blurry photos...

As for sailing... my skills are up to par... it's the cooking that I have trouble with... besides a mean cheesecake recipe... can't do a whole lot in the kitchen....

SD...you're a master with words....in 3 simple lines you said a lot, here is my carefull interpretation:

1) YOU SAID - you're a photography teacher, I UNDERSTOOD - therefore must be a lousy sailor

2) YOU SAID - Your students were bad, I UNDERSTOOD - they are as bad as the teacher that taught them

3) YOU SAID - My photos are blurred, I UNDERSTOOD - but I could have not posted them, thus you wouldn't know, some are quite sharp maybe you have míopia

4) YOU SAID You sail as you Golf, I UNDERSTOOD - sailing has ratings and one might call them handicaps, but no pars, or bogeys, altough in some coastal areas you might find Eagles and Birdies!!!

5) YOU SAID - You can't cook, I UNDERSTOOD - your cooking is as bad as your Multitude of recepies!!!

Besides, I have a really bad camera, no time and don't care about sharp pictures...its the moment that counts...

By the way, on a serious note...travelling soon to the US any good digital cameras you would recommend around $250 with zoom and movie??? More pixels is good, right??

Thanks

My favorite camera to recommend to sailors and other boaters right now is the Olympus 720 SW... You can read more about it here and get prices here. It's basically got several "push-here-dummy" modes, so you should be able to use it.

However, it's a bit more than $250...running more like $300 USD... but it has excellent picture quality and is both waterproof and shock-resistant. 7.0 Megapixels, and 3x optical zoom. Very nice... only drawback is that it uses the XD memory cards, which are pretty much only used by Olympus and Fuji IIRC. BTW, I'd get a couple of 2GB cards for it at a minimum.

BTW, Your interpretations are as lousy as your photoshop skillz.

1) What does being a photography teacher have to do with being a bad sailor... I'm probably a better photography teacher than I am a sailor... but you learn a lot when you teach... and I haven't taught too many how to sail...

2) Students aren't all bad or good... but I rock as a photography teacher... or so they tell me.

3) You posted them—I saw them... many are fuzzy, like your logic... and myopia is spelled MYOPIA.

4) I sail much better than I golf... I hate golf...

5) I can cook..... I just sail better than I cook... I have lots of recipes... not all that great at making any of them...except for a killer cheesecake.

Giulietta-

Your definitions of art and artist are somewhat different from mine I think...

SD,what about these photos??? Are they good in your opinion?

The first is pretty focus, and I like the big ass wave coming behind...the second one...I don't know, but like the sun reflections...
