Great! Another drain on the CG. Hope he DIDN'T take an EPIRB! (probably left it off 'cause he needed room for beer)

I believe that I read somewhere that he felt the rental of an EPIRB was too much.

Even though his relatives wanted to have him rent one... at least it reduces the workload on the always overextended USCG if he doesn't have one...

Darwin's theory should still be effective with regards to the human race someplace...

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

This is a case where I hope he gets enough of a beating to learn a lesson, but somehow makes it in somewhere. Even though he went out knowing it was foolhardy, I hate to hear of someone being lost at sea.

True... but he was calling us several things...most of which were not nice at all, for telling him to get an EPIRB and that doing such a journey, this early in the season, on a boat that was an unknown quantity was somewhat foolish.

I read the thread. He is definitely a fool, and deserves whatever he gets. Still, there are very few people that I don't feel at least somewhat sad upon hearing of there passing.

Fortunately for him...the gods often watch over the bigger fools...and protect them from their own actions.

Maybe he is a Survivor....

I wouldn't write him off yet. I think he'll be one of those guys who makes it just fine (for whatever reason) and comes back calling all the nay-sayers a bunch of woosies or something like that tooting his own horn for years to come Sometimes ole King Neptune gets busy and forgets to check on the people he has given too many 'free passes' to I know I owe him a few

He might be a survivor, but it seems he has no clue of what his actions do to his family. Eventually, luck runs out, and the longer it takes, the harder the fall.

That's why I'm hoping he gets pounded around enough to learn a lesson, but somehow limps into port somewhere.
