Where To Look?
I am in the market for a new sailboat and I would like to know where everyone else looks?
I have used yachtworld pretty much all the time.
Thanks.

Km2x-
New, or new to you... big difference. It would help if you said what you were looking for in a boat. Yachtworld and Boats.com seem to have basically the same listings. You also might want to talk to a broker, depending on your budget, and see if one is willing to work with you to find a boat suited to your needs.

I agree with SD (unfortunately... haha). What are you looking for? Give us some plans, and we will be sure to give you lots of biased, one-sided, opinionated, and otherwise great information!!!

New to me... I actually have a catalina 27 and am looking to upgrade to a catalina 34 so I really researched the market based upon our needs. My real question is besides yachtworld and boats.com is there any other good online listing sites?

What area are you in? There's a site that has broker listing for the Lake Erie and Ontario area, mostly Canadian, but some US as well. Used Sailboats in central Canada

KM,
Good choices. You are obviously a wise and intelligent shopper. (smile).
Yahctworld is the obvious, but you can check with some brokers in your area. My opinion, you should get a list of all the Catalina, Beneteau, and Hunter dealers in your "distant" area (especially Catalina). I have found many of them are not members of Yachtworld. They may have currently or know of a 34 coming on the market. Since many of these boats are trades to larger boats (sometimes the deal pending on the trade-in value of the boat), your timing could put you in a nice boat at trade-in prices. Did that make sense?? They will make $$ of the new boat, and just want to get rid of a trade.
Where do you live?? Down south by chance??

KM-
Please note CruisingDad's signature, and the source of his bias in favor of Catalinas... It would help if you said where you were located...

PS Just to set the record straight, I am not a paid employee or have any association with Catalina other than owning several of their boats and writing in Mainsheet.

For Northern California, Farrallone Yachts is THE place to go. They are at the Marina down the block from me and deal mainly with Catalina. I pop down there about once every other month to laugh at CD's boat, I mean look at all the new boats and gadgets (you know I am joking CD).
And WooHooo, Strictly sail will be here on the 18th! I am gonna fill my Camelback with high grade octane, put on my Vans slip ons (for easy access to the boats) and spend the ENTIRE day, getting the full use out of my money. Who's with me!
