new headboard problems

I had a friend install a new mainsail headboard on my CAL20 mainsail and now have a large wrinkle just under it near the clew.
I have tried both halyard clips on the head board & this didn''t help much, if at all.
Any ideas?
I''m also wondering if it''s a good idea to try to get the shape right without my battens that someone must have needed pretty badly, as they took mine? Argh.

Clewless in Victoria.
I meant that the wrinkle is down from the headboard, along the "leach" for approx. 18".
I also meant that I had tried both halyard clip "holes" on the headboard.
Ideas?
I suppose I really need someone to have a first hand look see.
