Sailscope

Good afternoon to all :
The captain of the sailboat ( 43 Serendipity ) of which I am part of the crew has asked me to inquire about a sailscope , for my internet research i understand its a plastic device developed by North Sails in order to help sail trimming and finding draft position ( i may be wrong ) the captain from what he recollects has indicated me that its a single side binocular ? can somebody guide me through this and in any case give us an idea where we can buy one ? or what its used instead of the device ?
Thank you in advance ( my excuses if this is note the right forum to place this questions )
George .

I remember from years ago that you could get plastic templates with various draft shapes which you could look through to judge the draft stripe on your working sail.... Are you looking for something like that? Perhaps North or somebody put that idea into an optical device like you describe...

I'm assuming that this is a sail trim tool you're after rather than a general mono/ binocular type of thing.

Thank you both for the prompt reply , definitevely its not the datascope ,but something similar , Faster , yes , is like a plastic template but North does not make them anymore they use a different procedure to calculate amount of draft and its position on the sail . I guess we will have to go by the theory and appy the best of it , best regards from Peru .
