Tropical Storm Barry

The first named Tropical Storm has formed in the Caribbean and heading across Central Florida. Three guess what part of Florida I'm currently in
Though not expected to intensify, it may cause flooding and some nasty marine conditions.

Currently at 27 27 22 N 80 18 16 W

I saw that a while ago...but predictions are it will give you a near miss and make landfall in NW Florida. Probably not a bad idea to get tucked in somewhere anyhow.

Already took a slip for tonight, so I could run around and get propane and groceries and stuff. Tomorrow though, it's back on the hook. Then head out Sunday morning.

Looks alot like Alberto from last year..The shear conditions were really too high at the 500mb level for this to develop..Most Tropical systems cant survive more than 15kts wind shear..Shear levels were running 25-30 kts..This shear is present north of the storm,dont look for much strengthening. The storm should track north than accelerate off to the NNE..The shear that will keep it from developing is a double edge swoard as it will provide a triggering mechanism for Tornados East of the COC(center of circulation)...heads up for heavy rain and a chance of Tornados as this system crosses Florida..When it emerges into the Atlantic look for this system to become extratropical and shoot off NE as basically a Summer Nor'Easter..
