I've been curious myself! If I had a pot to piss in, I'd have been there with them for sure...!!!

Either that damned torpedo fell off, or they mutinied.

Silly boys,
That is quite obviously a sonar transponder uniquely designed and tuned for the detection of herring. What were you guys thinking? Sheesh.

Guys,

We arrived OK in Vilamoura. Tom went home already, should be arriving today, and Mark is staying around Lisbon till Tuesday. Touristing...we had a very very good time. He is visiting everything around Lisbon.

We had a wonderfull time HOWEVER we had to motor a lot, specially on the beginning and end of day 2 due to a weird tottally bizzarre lack of wind.

The Portuguese saying:

"from Spain no good wind and no good marriage" proved it self right.

Shitty East winds for the 2 days, (had been good till we left) we only sailed in 5 to 15 kt winds. However we passed Sagres cape on sail so they have bragging rights! Not many have done it.

In order to keep the programmed arrival time...we had to motor a lot, which made me very very mad and grumpy...

Still Mark and Tom loved it, and I believe they will later after arriving confirm it.

I will let them post about their experience here, as it is more fare to let them talk about it....

Here a few photos, they have hundreds more!

Giulietta is now safely kept at Vilmoura Marina till End of September.

Life is Good, do what you like..like what you do...

Here's Mark...cool looking....

And Tom looking professional...man this guy can fix anything....

Fred driving some..he cut his tongue with his braces and had a bad trip...

After passing the cape of St. Vicente / Sagres

and....the summer mooring in Vilamoura....

Please wait for Tom's and Mark's posts...see you soon

Thank you for your friendship, Tom and Mark..

Alex

Sailnetters,

Arrived home late last night. 22 hours Lisbon to N. Michigan. Easier going the other way.

I will post a trip report when I wake up. Let me just say that Gui's boat is beautiful, but his family is even more beautiful. This was an absoulutely wonderful experience. Alex's acutal personna is very similar to his online personna.....with more energy if you can believe that!!!!! I thknk is is the coffee. Great people, great boat, great company, beauful coastline. If only the wind blew in Portugal.

More soon.
