What I Missed ....

Here's an account from the person I thought about buddying up with to run the Gulfstream from Florida to Beaufort, NC. As you'll see, I missed out on all the "fun".

" John: Left Palm Beach last Sunday and had a wonderful day out..........hit 10 kts overland.

By Sunday nite, however, seas were rising as was the wind. Monday had 30kt winds and 10-15ft seas. Put out the droge and waited it out. Lost a lot of time going nowhere, but we were safe.

Tuesday, had more high winds and high seas, but rode them out quite well. Had minor mishap with the jib and a stanchion, but all is fine. Now in Oriental, NC. Will leave tomorrow morning. Winds are kind of high right now. Will sea. Got to get moving."

And as a side note, that was one of those "weak" Hunters. A 380.

Currently at 33 21 55 N 79 16 57 W

You mean the one that had to sit on a sea anchor as soon as the wind started to blow a little, that one????
