Hey ya'll...I love your boat...if and when I can afford a 30'+ boat, it may well be one like yours. I like the pilothouse sailers. It may be the ole "gearhead" in me!!

Ha. No, not Screen Gems. I work at the NC Museum of History in Raleigh. My parents built a house in Oriental in the late 70's and my fiance and i keep our boat there... in Greens Creek. Oriental is like home to me even though i'm from Raleigh. It has completely changed in the last 5 years though!

Thanks. That was the name that the PO had given it and we thought it was appropriate after looking for our boat for almost a year so we kept it. We got engaged (after 5 years together) the same weekend we closed on the boat... so double the meaning. Now we just have to change the hailing port from Bath to Oriental. I suppose we should crack a bottle of champagne on the bow too right?

Mile mark 212.5, at Portage Des Sioux, MO. That's about 40 miles above St Lou, and I have seen Sciota on the creek. Used to sail on L Michigan, but moved here about the time you mustered out. Much prefer the Great Lakes but it is a long commute. Plan to go back when we retire.
