sailing with a baby
Looking for advice on sailing with a baby.
Looking to do a circumnavigation, leaving next year.
Baby will be about 12 months old.
Will be doing a fairly standard milkrun route, but might go to africa as well.
If baby gets seasick - is there any medication they can take, are sea sickness patches safe? Someone told me babys dont tend to get seasick, as their brains haven't yet worked out whats normal - re motion, horizons etc.
Securing baby - obviously during heavy weather, or relatively short crossings a baby seat is feasible, but cant stay in that for days on end - any one got any experience?
Things like malaria medication, and immunisations for various nasties - are there baby safe doses. - I know that in countries where malaria is a problem the locals tend to be immune. Is this because as babys they develop an immunity, or are they born with it?
I know that lots of people travel the high seas with young children, so these problems are all solvable, and we will come up with a solution prior to departure, but just interested if anyone has direct experience with these issues.
thanks
