Invest in the New York to Nantucket Chart kit and study it before you depart. They go as far as giving you routes, bearings, and distances between popular destinations. Depth should not be a problem but double check and take no chances. Monitor the weather; you are more likely to encounter light winds than any thing bad in the sound. I would strongly recommend a
