Teach a newbie a thing or 2

Hello there,
OK Iím a newbie to the sailing community, well sort of. Iím looking to befriend some of you folks and get introduced into the world of sailing. I currently live in west coast Michigan (USA), and I plan on traveling to the ďNew EnglandĒ area (Newburyport, MA) to visit family the first week in August. If any one is interested in teaching a greenhorn a thing or two drop me a line. Iíve only been a passenger on a sailboat 3 times, but do have a pretty good background in the marine field (U.S. Coast Guard almost retired (27 hours to go)) and a lot of sea stories!!! I thought that before investing time and cash on the certified courses I would at least try to pick up a few friends and tips along the way. Hope to hear from some of you.
George
