Question Uh oh... What sailing sounds drive ya crazy?

Why?

PWC's rank high on my list. The OB going silent at the worst possible moment ranks up there too.

What sounds do I like?

The swish off water along the hull accompanied by the hum of the keel cable as we set off on the first tack or run of the day.

Spare Halyard slapping around.

The slack topping lift hitting the back stay.
(That makes kinda like a Starwars Light Saber type sound; Drives me nuts)

WHen you are sleeping in bed (aft berth), and the 'slap-slap' of the water on the stern stops! Many times I have jumped out of my berth and banged my head on that one!

I can see that CD, after looking at the aft berth on the 380 and going hmmmm.

CC,

That is the issue with a aft cockpit.

Probably one of the worst sounds is the wind screaming through the rigging at about 2-3am after going to bed in a dead calm anchorage with no winds predicted....how much scope did I put out?

Another one would be the thrumm thrumm thrumm of a heavy ship at 0 dark 30 when you're achored two miles from the nearest shipping lanes. That's another one that'll cause a head knocker in the aft berth.
