Giulietta is this you?

Found this video and it reminds me of you.

Somehow I get the feeling this is the kind of sailing you do. Very extreme, fun to watch, but out of my league.

I think that video or something very much like it was posted last week. Still very good.

He's crazy...but not that crazy...besides his better half might object to him putting the boat at that much risk....

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Thanks NoDoubt,
I enjoyed that.

Giulietta, I like the self tailing winches.

I would enjoy racing with you. No that's not what I meant. I would enjoy racing against you. That would be fun.
Be great and have fun!

Giu,
Do you think Fred will want to grow up to crew ocean racing boats? He is already such a young competitor. If he does will you let him? What if he wanted to be a bow man? Would it scare you too much, or would you approve?

Like my parents did to me, I will not force anything on my kids, except good manners and home eductaion...my true legacy to them.

Fred races because he wants, and I support him.

If Fred decides in the future, and his lucky enough to be a bow man in a Volvo, that would make me extremely proud and probably very fond of him. I would approve, yes.

The inherent dangers of sailing, specially hi-level competition such as oceanic, are present and if known and dealt inside each personal's enveloppe, can be somewhat controlled, or avoided.

My job is showing Fred where his enveloppe edges are, his job is to stay inside them...

If Fred deciided to do it...I am pretty shure my contribution towards his "education" and keeping safe would kick in.

I rather see my son exposing him self to dangers, sailing in an oceanic race than a victim of drugs, or alchool.

God protect him from that, I hope.
