Pretty boat... I can see the bobstay strut causing some serious damage to dinghys that aren't careful though. Finding dock space for it is going to be a bit tough... 105' long...I don't think my marina has a dock that long, much less a slip. Never mind that it wouldn't have the depth of water needed for that beast.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Me, I've got just the ducky for that tub.

That thing is gobsmackingly beautiful. What an arse.

Wonder what she is worth ?

In Sydney (Australia) around twenty years back a couple of guys built an 85' steel ketch based on Ticonderoga called Batavia. I'd love to know what happened to her.

What, only 35,000 a week? Pocket change, who's coming.

After looking at that my wood is suitable for varnishing. Pure beauty. I bet it takes a large part of that 35K a week to keep the crew and maintenance going. I know what I am going to do with the money I win tonight on the powerball.

16' 10" draft and 850 gallons of fuel You would need a floating fuel tank or two to come out and fill you up. Couldn't get to the fuel dock.

I thought the Batavia was the wooden ship at the Maritime museusm in Sydney? I just looked at the Maritime museum's site and it's not listed on there. When I was in Sydney back in 2000 for the olympics I went aboard her. I can't remember which deck it was, but one was only about 4 feet high.
I spent 7 weeks in Sydney (first 3 weeks I stayed in a motel on Bondi. Then spent 4 weeks at Joey's with the Olympic Youth Camp) and I think I went to every museum, park, beach, and aquarium in the area. I was walking at least 10 miles a day.

When I was little we lived in St. Pete Beach, FL and the HMS Bounty was docked over in Pasedina. We went on a couple of times. It was a wax museum at the time, pretty cool.
