blt2ski will become famous soon enough
I have nto looked at the local ferry map that tenuki linked, I typically just look at the port of edmonds live at the marina weather link. Good to with in 5 min at worst, unless we are talking last Nov when there was no power for about a week over much of the puget sound region!

Sailflow.com is a pretty good site too. I use the NOAA and Weather Underground sites as well.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/marin...e_e.html?45139
http://www.weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca/ci..._metric_e.html

The fact that all three are sometimes radically different (they are all in roughly a twelve-mile radius of each other) tells me what to expect as I round the Toronto Islands, the main wind affecter, if that's a word, around here. My club is about 300 metres from the Toronto Island weather station, but as soon as I get into the lake, things can change rapidly, which is the key to winning club races on the west side of Toronto's waterfront, by the way.

Checking all three informs my dockside reefing decisions. If they all agree, I know it will be a fairly ordinary sail.

If ever in or approaching The Netherlands, try the weeronline.nl site.

Lots of weather data by time and location, and pretty good forecasting (though generally starting from a basis of 'Changeable weather, with moderate wind and a good chance of rain...')
