Whats so Important about knots

I know 4 knots.... bowline, granny, reef, round turn and two half hitches.

I survive now, 15 years on.

When motoring I see 5.8 knots, hour after hour, on the wee water speed indicator.

Only three knots worth knowing, bowline, clove, and rolling hitch. 'nuff said
