LOL very astute jboatjack...
When I bought my boat I had the same problem. The key to it was the jib halyard remaining tight when my furler tube moved 2 feet to leeward in a 10 knot breeze on a close reach. I swear when you took your hands off the helm that boat hooked to windward like a running back running for a hole in the line of scrimage.
A complete rigging tuneup solved the problem. The boat is almost perfectly balanced now.
