I heard that you can get sailing jobs taking a boat from one destination to another. Some you don't need sailing experience others you do. I have basic sailing experience, sunfish and a 30 foot Morgan. I'm a 19 year old college student. Is there a good place to find information about these things? A
website that does these type of things?

If you want a paying job, I'd recommend you get your STCW 95 and at least a USCG OUPV or six-pack.

I'm not really looking to get paid but just to have the experience, if you know what I mean

Ah... then you might want to look at crew finder sites... Having the STCW 95 would probably improve your chances of getting picked, as would getting a wilderness/marine first aid course, CPR and Celestial navigation skills/training.

Everyone on this forum should give you a interview to make sure your not a serial killer, and then give you a ride... We all are family here aren't we? I would have to come up with some questions maybe we all can make up some questions to ask?

I guess it would also depend on where you are located?

I live in Southport, North Carolina. Its between Wilmington and Myrtle Beach.

I am and Eagle Scout. So as far as survival techniques and map orientation I'm proficient at both.

I'm also in good shape. I don't know if that has to do with anything but I exercise a lot and do not eat very much. I'm planning on hiking the Appalachian Trail next season so its sort of part of the preparation for that.
