How to log in/get acccount for email lists

I can view the messages under resources, email lists (ie Seafarer list / messages), however I cannot post. It asks me to log in, and won't accept my eamil address for authenication. Is this a different accounbt than my sailnet account, or what am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance!

labatt will become famous soon enough
These are on a completely different system that is actually an e-mail list. While in the Seafarer forum, if you click on "All Forums" at the top it will bring you to a list of all forums. Scroll through the list until you get to the page that lists "Seafarer". All the way to the right you will see a "Subscribe" button. Click on that button and enter your e-mail address. You will then get a confirmation notice sent to your e-mail inbox. Reply to the e-mail message and you will be added to the list. In the future. when you go to the Seafarer's page you can login using this e-mail address. You can then post using the web browser interface. Alternatively, you can e-mail your posts to the list. What you are using through your browser is a web interface to an e-mail list system. All posts will be sent to your inbox, but can also be read through the web browser interface.
