Here is one for the night..
Every now and then I will come here on this thread and put a photo of a boat sailing.

Very nice. thanks.

Nice shot, Alex.
And I like your new avatar, too. I'm envious ... I'd love to have a picture of my 17-year-old daughter on the tiller. But that would require her to spend an afternoon with her incredibly uncool father. :-/ Enjoy those great kids of yours, sir. They'll be teenagers before you know it. Kurt |
Alex, that picture belongs on the cover of a sailing mag. You should submit it, seriously. Awesome shot!
|
Those type of pics is why I bought a boat. I can't wait to post my own.
Poltrgeist, How can you be uncool? You sail. Jim |
CSM-
The problem with that photo is that it is a horizontal, and most magazine covers require a vertically oriented photo, with a fair amount of clear space at the top for the magazine's masthead. It would be better for an interior double-truck horizontal photo layout. :D |

My parents didn't have a chance with me. I was married at 18 (no shotguns involved) and 26 years later still am to the same wonderful person.
I am fortunate that both my kids (22 year old son and 18 year old daughter) have no issue being seen with me in public. I never grew up and still have no desire too. I put my glasses on and checked the photo again. Now I understand :D |
Dog and Buckeye ...
Yes, the glamor shot in my avatar gives away some of the reason why my kid thinks I'm a dork. She's basically right.
I'm lucky ... she's a good kid, works hard, gets great marks from her boss, does well enough in school, loves music (as I do), has a great sense of humor, hasn't been in trouble with the law, doesn't do drugs ... but doesn't like sailing. I'll live with it. Kurt |
When I post a pic it will never have me in it and as you see I have no avatar. I will not give any photoshop ammo.
I must be a dork also. Both of mine are great and make me very proud. My daughter does'nt understand why to have a sailboat. Too slow. She will though spend all day on my power boat. (Hi my name is Jim and I am a stinkpotter) I will drag her and her friends all over the James River, so they all think I am cool. My son cannot wait to go out for a sail. |
