Get a better internet connection... I've downloaded the NOAA charts without any trouble. Trying to get them via BitTorrent is a good way to get screwed... the data could easily be altered, damaged, or the files infected... Or you could pay the $40 or so that some companies are charging to send you the entire set of files on disc.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

I'm satisfied with dl speed (approx 150-160kb/s) while dl works, and I know that us-eu net backbone is ok. I have few sites hosted in US so I frequently upload or dl something.
I didn't find (ww.oziexplorer.com) option to buy maps

Ditto that...also be aware that the NOAA charts ONLY include USA waters...not the Bahamas or Caribbean...but you doget Puerto Rico and the US virgin ISLANDS
EDIT Note: You can purchase non-free charts from various mapping software companies like Maptech. You're program... - uses Maps in many standard image formats - TIFF, BMP, JPG, PNG
- uses Maps in many proprietary formats - BSB, BSB 4, BSB 5, ECW, MrSID, Maptech Terrain Navigator maps (.024,.100,.250) and Maptech Aeronautical charts (.AER), RIK, Kompass
Be sure any maps you purchase are compatible with these formats. Here's a link to the Maptech ones available for other world regions that are compatible with your software.

You can try downloading the charts you need, separated by geographic region in to smaller files which may make the download succeed, here. They also offer the charts for sale on disc for $39 on sale, or $49 normally.

Maptech helped develop the older BSB format electronic raster charts. The new NOAA ENC charts are vector based.
What phrase did you google for??? I googled for "NOAA ENC CHARTS".

BSB is still a Raster-only format. The site I linked to has both BSB and ENC files, arranged by geographic region. I do believe you're correct that OziExplorer is only BSB capable, but I don't use it, and haven't played with it in at least a year...
