Suggestion re Sailnet burgee

What do you all think of holding a design contest for a Sailnet Burgee?

I've often wondered over the summers here how many other sailnet posters and lurkers are in the same harbour that we were.... hard to tell without talking to everyone.

A burgee would bring that instant recognition of a fellow member. It should be something that reflects the global nature of the forum and its obsession with all things sailing.

The Administrator and the Sailnet store could perhaps get behind it and produce/sell/distribute them once a design has been chosen. (and offer a meaningful prize for the winner!?)

From the "Other Hobbies" thread it seems there are a lot of talented folk out there.... Lets see what you all can do.

What do you think?

Faster...suggest you send that suggestion direct to the admin first as there may be some sailnet graphics/logos/design issues that they would want to clear before adopting something new. I like the idea myself and promise to fly one from my RV antenna!! (g)

Great Idea, BUT, I thought SAILNET already had their logo. the graphic is on the top left corner of every page and even displays in my browser search bar when I'm at a sailnet site and even is displayed in my favorites

red bordered, white sail on a field of blue. I think it's subliminally ingrained into my brain already, and I recognize it on sight - how could you not ?

Actually Cam, you will need to get an RV.net sticker, there may even be a flaggy thing from there too, along with the sailnet burgee!

Cam's going to get one of those RV state sticker maps. You know the kind where you put a sticker on for each state you have been in or stayed in.

Forget them Cam, they are just jealous. We have an RV for now and we will sell it when we get a sailboat. We've had a travel trailer and a Pop-Up. Having an RV and a sailboat just doesn't make sense.

There is many very nice places to see in an RV. Some (most National Parks) have restrictions on the length usually no longer than 30'. Some are 27'.

Enough about RV's get back to the Burgee.
