That's a fascinating explanation of the stern section of the skiff. I find the historical context very interesting too. I had been wondering about the size of that "summer rig" for kids, so I'm glad to hear about the "winter rig". Makes good sense. You might see if other maritime museums would be interested in trying to build a few. Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum (CBMM) comes to mind.
Thanks for the kind words on our pram. Truthfully though, there's a reason why I didn't post any "close-ups". In the final push for completion we went for more of the "work-boat" finish so we could get it launched and start sailing. I'm not sorry about that, since we use/abuse it a lot anyway and it would never have stayed "bristol" for very long even if we could have achieved that level of finish.
