shore power dumb question

of doing that this winter once i got a bit more familiar with the boat. also thinking about re-wiring it. the PO has alot of splices and things wirenutted together. if i rewire should i replace the fused panel with a new circuit breaker panel. if so, any manufactures you would recommed.
