for this crowd . . . but well worth it. A Dark & Stormy Newport Rendezvous sounds great.

I could make that, but it would have to be later than spring, say mid-June.

I could certainly drive there in half a day. We might also be able to get a large group out on the Chesapeake.

I could make that also. June sounds good to me.

Sounds good TB !! ..... and I'll set the race course in my old stomping grounds up in the Greenwich Bay section of Narragansett Bay strategically placing the markers near the unmarked sandbars Then you and I can leave the Giulietta racing machine in the dust ...... or I mean... mud I can see it all now ..... Hey Giu... come on... don't be a stick in the mud !!!!! No No.... I AM stuck in the mud . No.... that would be awful... and I would never do such a thing Ahhh.... built in handicapping

Christyleigh-

You'd still have to deal with use shoal draft multihulls...and we'd smoke a Nauticat...

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Yeah, let's do that, have a SailNet regatta between multihulls & Nauticats, don't especially savor the pains of defeat. Tell yah what . . . I'll cheat by motorsailing and smoke everyone, including Stan.

What about having a massive get together of boats, perhaps the first night dropping anchors in Newport Harbor, or one of the many sheltered coves along the Bay?

Spend at least a couple days here and relax. Of course sail the Bay's excellent conditions, have a regatta if you'd like - but allow some time ashore as well to enjoy the sights and tastes of Newport.
