Puget Sound, San Juan's this weekend.

I know it's supposed to be light out there and nice this weekend but thought to invite anybody sailing around Fidalgo or Lopez to meet up somewhere this Sat or Sun. I'll be out there both days in Oh Joy and monitoring 13 & 16 on the VHF. This is for the weekend of Oct. 27 & 28.

We're going out, probably just over to Coronet Bay or Hope Island. I went by Jones Island earlier this week in the work boat and they were in the process of pulling the float out. Matia still had the float in as of Tuesday. I don't know about James and Doe Islands, but it's that time of year that the floats start coming out. You gonna be out in the big boat?

Also, some of the locals are planning a rendezvous at Oak Harbor on the Veteran's Day weekend on the SSCA website. We'll probably show up for that.

Andrew & I have just brought our yacht over to Anacortes from Chicago, unloaded in the Marineservicenter in Anacortes Marina, on the other side from you. Its a 38ft steel Bruce Roberts design, and has been left ashore for a couple of weeks to get some work done - we had planned to antifoul but unfortunately they won't let us. Expecting to be back in the water sometime next week, then a late season cruise of the San Juans and Gulf Islands. We'd really love to meet other local boaters here for ideas of where to go!

I think there was a thread earlier this summer in response to a charter boater looking for advice on places to go in the San Juans. It was either this forum or the SSCA forum.

Got it, I kept thinking it was a local cruising group that a dock mate hd told me about, that I promptly forgot the name of! Oh well, life goes on. Had a wonderfull sail from Edmonds to shlshoal with daughter this evening, got a nifty shot of a full moon rising, sunset over olympics, Mt rainer, baker........15knots all down wind! 5.5-6.5 knots on a 24' WL boat! such fun!

The only yard on Fidalgo Is. that will let ya do it yourself is Skyline. They have to remove the old antifoul for EPA reasons but you can apply the barrier and bottom paint.
