New Sailboat

I just bought a 1977 Bayliner Buccaneer. Needs to be refurbished. Never sailed or restored a boat. Any help with parts would be great.

It would help if you said which of the bayliner buccaneers, as they made several models IIRC. Also, I would highly recommend you read the POST in my signature.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

I can't post a link. Search out Bayliner Buccaneer and you should find an MSN group. I have a B270 and they have given me great direction and advice.

I'm a traitor

We took possession of our 1999 Formula 330 SS this weekend, and had a great time out on the Potomac. There is quite a difference between 30 knots in a power boat and 5 knots in a sailboat, and the power boat will go a lot faster than 30 knots.

Don't get me wrong - I get it about sailing, and I've enjoyed the three years of sailing on my Santana 35, which is now for sale. But I just decided, and the rest of the family agrees, that it would be fun to go faster for a while.

See if it were me I'd keep the sailboat and buy a couple wave runners But to each his own

As for the original poster, I second the suggestion to follow the link in SD's signature. Also, if you need to post a link or pic you will need to have 10 posts. Take a trip over to the Song Chain thread in the Off Topic area and post a bunch to get your count up.

Once you're over 10 post a few pice of what you have so we can get an idea of what you have ahead of you.
