It is easier for me to think about center of effort: when the main is trimmed, the center of effor on the sails moves to the rear and the bow goes to windward. When it is eased, the CE moves forward and the bow falls off.

I think the diagram that shows properly/improperly trimmed sails does not match the text. Text says the boat on the left has sails inefficiently trimmed, and on the right - has proper trim. The diagram shows what seems to me to be the opposite.

That is a nicely done production Alex and an inspiration for trying that maneuver on my boat.

Now, if you can put together a video showing how to convince a wife that when a sailboat heels, it is both safe and fun, that would be of great value to me.
