This summer, a friend brought his new Patin de Cataluna.
Its a narrow beam catamaran with no rudder. You steer with the same principle, but with one mre particularity. On the Patin, you have a
line that allows you to control mast rake (see the
lines on the bow of each pontoon to the mast), and thus allow the mast to pivot for better steering.
These are indeed very very fast boats, you need an ensemble of weight shifting, sail trim, main sheet, rahe and boom jack control.

Let me tell you...you're not a sailor until you can do a racing triangle with one...I fell 3 times in 3 days sailing it...but because you keep the sheet in your hand you pull yourself back fast...what a blast, it makes you a better sailor...guaranteed.
By day 2 I was
seating down, and lifted the pontoon...I WANT ONE!!!!!!
