HoffaLives is on a distinguished road
Well we got word late yesterday that Fainleog is back in the water. After 6 @#$% weeks! They want me there by three when they fire up the diesel. Something about my pulling the head (no, not that head) that has them nervous and they want me there in case there's a big Ka-CHUNK and they can then point fingers at me.

You would think I would be ecstatic, and part of me is, but I had another bad dream last night about floods and crashing waves If I had some scotch around I'd be at it. Writers do have overactive imaginations.

But it's the subconscious at work all right; contrary to myth, the last 4.5 months of "living the dream" has been a disaster , and my subconscious is sucking it's thumb and whimpering "make the bad boat go away". Where's a French intelligence agent when you need one? A bit of dynamite beneath the keel, a quick payout by the insurance company, and I could be living in a trailer on a south sea beach somewhere being fed papaya by naked and ebbuilont 18-year-old virgins.
See, the dreaming doesn't end, it evolves! I could even take potshots at passing yachts with my Lee-Enfield .303

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Don't you love it when football fans start cashing checks half way through the season? Just a few short weeks ago the Bear fans had them going back to the big game. It may come as news to some, but if Tom Brady and Randy Moss each break their legs, the Super Bowl will not be delayed by one minute. It's a long season, things happen, and that's why they play the games!

But what would you do?
I dunno - lay off the 'shrooms for a while.... ???

Seriously - sounds like you're feeling a little trapped in the liveaboard situation. Rent a small apartment. In Hamilton or somewhere cheap. It will do wonders for your psychic well-being. In the back of your mind you'll know you have an option.
