Obsession
Just a quick question: Why do I think about sailing, sailboats, new(er) sailboats, bigger sailboats all of the time? I mean ALL of the time (except when I am thinking about sex). I go to sleep imagining the feeling of the wheel or tiller in my hand (still sailing here guys), I ignore my work to slink around in these forums. I lurk in boatyards, stroking the smooth hulls (STILL sailing here guys). I scan every boat for sale site on the planet. I plan my travel to include side trips to see yachtworld listings. I finance the boats in my head, deciding what I will sell to pay for them. I will sail anytime, in any boat, with anyone who feels like sailing. I have a family. I have 2 young kids and a wife and a dog and a house and 2 careers. I love all of them, and properly prioritize my activities to include all of them. But whenever I can, I edge them a bit closer to the marina, or to the waterfront, or even a lake, so that I can catch a glimpse of the conditions, or the boats that are out. Who knows? Maybe someone needs crew.......
Am I alone out here?
