I was in Tuckerton today to wrap my mast with my sons help. It was very windy. Gust of 35 knots. We could have planned a better day to play with traps. But while there, I gave a hand to a guy in a 28 ft Oday. He said yesterday it took him 9.5 hours to get from the top of Little Egg Harbor to Tuckerton, New Jersey. He said he had to motor, because the wind was to strong. He tried to use his jib but said it was to much for the boat. He also hit something and bent his rudder. Lucky for him, he didn't lose his steering.

He also said waves in the bay were 4 to 5 feet.

Stay in port and be glad you're not out there :-)

Gusts to over 50 knots at the Buzzards Bay Buoy Saturday. So glad I hauled my boat last week.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
