The "AMISTAD" in Cascais, Portugal

This may sound weird, but why is a Portuguese guy showing you an American boat???

Well, she visietd my home town, and stayed at my marina. I took a few photos they only alloed a few...

In many of my visits to the US I visited Mystic Seaport many times and saw her being built...interesting to see here in my neck of the wood...

So please, enjoy them.

Thanks for the photos, I've seen her many times, her home port is New Haven, Connecticut. Long Wharf. When she is home I drive buy her and the schooner Quinnippiac in the course of my work. Next summer I may crew on one of them for a few days. It's nice to sail along side of them.
A friend of mine helped build the Amistad and from the scape wood made a pen for me, the wood was from Africa and I don't remember what tree it's from but it has a nice grain. The original Amistad was built in Africa.
