To CT sailors!

Hello everyone,
I was thinking that there are group discounts for almost everything... How about group discounts for slips and moorings? I thought if we can gather a large enough group for next season, we can ask the marinas to give us a good deal!
What do you guys think? I believe we can get a group discount of 25% if we can gather a large group like 20-30 boaters... The best part would be you'd have somebody to sail with in the same marina! Ask your marinas about it, ask them how many boaters it would take for them to consider a good discount!
The marina fees are going to be 2500-5000 for a 30' vessel next season, you can do a lot with that 10-25% discount! A new GPS? A new Autopilot?
We've got to get together and try.... It'd not hurt to try...

I don't think that's going to happen. In many areas, the available slips are pretty high demand, and there aren't enough of them to make bargaining really feasible.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

what about discount transient slips for people in our group. you wont buy a gps but if it saves a few bucks thats something
that could bring people to your marina that may not stop by there if it was not on a list of marinas that would give us a discount

Marina slips and discounts = oxymoron.
But as SD aptly expressed, even with over 400 slips at my marina there's a waiting list.

Simple supply and demand. No leverage when demand outstrips supply the way it does with slips, moorings, anchorages, or just about any other marine service... :>(
