Joel,
I would like to take you up on this offer the next time we are in town. We just finished a house in Oriental, actually the house has been done for several months, we just added the dock. It is on one of the local creeks off the Neuse. But we are currently still located in NJ where our children and grandchildren are. We get down there every couple of months for a week or so at a time. Probably will not be down again until after the holidays.
I am looking for a boat to buy, I have only chartered (out of Annapolis) so far. And naturally, I am also looking for recommendations from people who sail in the area. Based on our location (shallow creek and wind tide issues) it will need to have a centerboard and something in the 28-30' range for comfortable weekend (or longer) trips to Cape Lookout and the surrounding area. My short list includes: Beneteau 323, Island Packet 31, Bristol 31.1, and a Nimble 30 Yawl(great looking boat but not sure about this rig for the area). Any and all comments or suggestions are welcome.
regards,
